UAE to host Endurance World Championship in Bu Theeb International Endurance Village

The UAE was awarded the hosting of the Endurance World Championship 2022 in the Bu Theeb International Endurance Village from 20th to 25th February, 2023, which will boost the pioneering stature of the country and the emirate of Abu Dhabi, in particular, in hosting major international events.

The International Federation for Equestrian Sports today announced that the village won the hosting of the major international event, during a meeting of its board of directors in Cape Town, South Africa.

On the occasion, Major General Dr. Ahmed Nasser Al Raisi, President of the Emirates Equestrian and Racing Federation, thanked the UAE’s leadership and commended the support and monitoring of H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Presidential Court, for the efforts of Bu Theeb International Endurance Village to host the event, as well as his keenness to ensure the readiness of the village, which has world-class infrastructure that guarantees the safety of horses and their riders, offers unique logistical services and meets the requirements for hosting the championship.

He then wished the championship’s Emirati participants success, noting that they have already won several titles, including at the championship’s edition held in Italy in 2021.

He also welcomed the event’s participants at Bu Theeb International Endurance Village, highlighting his confidence that it would host a distinguished championship with Emirati flair.

The championship’s organising committee has allocated prizes for all contestants, including in the “best horse category,” with total prize money amounting to AED2 million.

The village has received international recognition, as it has an advanced veterinary clinic equipped with digital radiology equipment and offers other diagnostic services.

Since its establishment in 2004, the village has hosted 147 races and championships under the supervision of the International Federation for Equestrian Sports, as well as 153 races and championships supervised by the Emirates Equestrian and Racing Federation.
