Strength and vitality -- in harmony with
the desert stunning views of Butheeb
On behalf of the Fédération Equestre Internatio-
nale, it is my pleasure to welcome you to Butheeb in
Al Khatim, Abu Dhabi (UAE), for the FEI Endurance
World Championship for Seniors 2022, bringing
together the crème de la crème of the discipline.
FEI Endurance is a sport which, at its very essence,
is based on excellent horsemanship and incredible
stamina to physically and mentally sustain the
focus required to perform at the highest level. It is
also a sport reliant on trust between partnerships
and teams, thorough planning, and a very commit-
ted entourage. There is no “I” in Endurance; you
need to know your partner, know your limits and
ensure that together you deliver your very best. This combined team eort is what makes
FEI Endurance so fascinating to watch.
Strong, energetic, powerful! The intensity and agility of the Championship you will wit-
ness here in Butheeb will be perfectly contrasted by the stunning desert location
amongst the spectacular dunes and landscapes. Spectators around the world are con-
stantly left in awe at the athletic achievements and sheer fortitude of our Endurance
partnerships. Championships such as these are truly essential for the development of our
sport; they promote, educate and entertain a growing, enthusiastic audience eager for
FEI Endurance action. Over the next few days, we will once again revel in the sport, as the
top tier bid for the title of individual and team world champion.
As we come together to marvel and celebrate FEI Endurance, I would like to thank the
organisers, UAE National Federation, and sponsors for their continuous support. Thank
you also to all ocials, volunteers and the media for providing the perfect platform to
highlight this historic, astonishing discipline.
To the athletes I wish the best of luck, and to the fans, may you enjoy every minute of the
best our sport has to oer!
