Passport

All horses must be registered with the UAEERF portal (UAENF) prior to taking part in the national and international equestrian events organized in the United Arab Emirates. Horses must be microchipped before applying for passports.

A Horse Passport (National/FEI): is an official identification document issued for horses competing in National (UAEERF) and International (FEI) events. An FEI passport is required for horses competing in international FEI events or traveling across borders for competition.

National Passport: A new passport will be issued for horses that do not already possess a valid passport or identification document.

Note: For imported horses, prior clearance from the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment is required before a passport can be issued; as a result, the process may take longer.)

An online application is available under Veterinary Services on the UAEERF portal. The request should be made by the Federation Approved Veterinarian for the issuance of UAE National Passport.

FEI Passport:                              To compete in Fédération Équestre Internationale (FEI) events outside the horse’s country of residence, as well as in higher-level FEI competitions, an FEI Passport is required. Please refer the FEI General Regulations (CIM) for further details on the types of passports required for different levels of competition.

An online application is available under Veterinary Services on the UAEERF portal.

FEI Recognition Card:           If a horse has a national passport approved by the FEI, a FEI Recognition Card is applied, which makes it valid for international competition.

An online application is available under Veterinary Services on the UAEERF portal.
