We would like to remind that in accordance with the FEI Veterinary Regulations and biosecurity standards,
the equine influenza vaccination details must be registered on the FEI HorseApp in addition to the Horse’s passport.
The FEI strictly enforces the digital registration of the vaccination as of
1st January 2026.
If a FEI Horse is presented at an FEI Event in 2026 without valid equine influenza vaccination details correctly
registered in the FEI HorseApp, the Person Responsible will be sanctioned in accordance with
Art. 1002 of the FEI Veterinary Regulations.
The Veterinary Department of the UAE Equestrian and Racing Federation held its Pre-season Annual Meet on 11th October 2025, in Abu Dhabi, UAE. FEI Veterinary Rule Changes and FEI Urgent Rule Repair policies were discussed in relation to all FEI equestrian sports in the UAE. So also, a comprehensive review of the past equestrian season was conducted and plans for the coming season were discussed to have a fair and uneventful season.
Around 50 veterinarians from across the UAE, with expertise in disciplines like Show Jumping, Eventing, and Endurance riding attended the meeting which indicated a strong equine community in the region, with events bringing together professionals to discuss and advance their knowledge in these specific disciplines.
The meeting was chaired by Dr. Moaadh Abdulla Ahmed Bin Zayed Alyahyaei, Head of the Veterinary Department and National Head Vet of United Arab Emirates to FEI.
