The 18th edition of the World
Endurance Championship,
which is hosted by the village
of Butheeb, is characterized
by some large differences in
the ages of the participants,
as the difference between
the oldest and youngest par-
ticipants reached about 55
years, which is happening for
the first time in the champi-
onship since its inception in
1986 with the participation
of the Argentine rider Con-
stanza Diaz, aged 18 years in
her first appearance in this
world championship, along-
side veteran Canadian Robert Gillen, who is in his seventh decade, at the
age of 73, and who is participating for the fourth time in the World Cup.
Veteran Robert Gillen, the Canadian, began his career in endurance
races in 1995, then his first participation was in the World Champion-
ships in Malaysia, 2008, then he participated in the 2016 championship,
and he ran the test race for the World Championships in North Carolina
2018, then he participated in the championship that was not completed
that year. .
